2016 Tesla Model S 85D Solid Black AWD 1-Speed Automatic Electric Motor
Clean CARFAX.
Elegant design, effortless electric performance, and groundbreaking technology come together in this 2016 Tesla Model S AWD. With its low, wide stance, flowing fastback profile, flush-mounted door handles, and clean exterior detailing, the Model S introduced a distinctly modern approach to the luxury performance sedan. Even years after its introduction, its sleek proportions remain immediately recognizable.
Inside, the Model S takes a technology-focused approach to luxury. The centerpiece is its expansive 17-inch touchscreen, which consolidates navigation, media, climate settings, vehicle controls, and numerous other functions into a single interface. A fully digital instrument cluster provides information directly ahead of the driver, while the flat floor and absence of a conventional transmission tunnel contribute to a spacious and open passenger compartment.
Its electric architecture also provides impressive everyday practicality. With no gasoline engine occupying the front of the vehicle, the Model S supplements its large rear cargo area with additional storage beneath the hood. The liftback design provides considerably more cargo flexibility than a traditional luxury sedan, making the Model S equally suited to commuting, longer journeys, and everyday family use.
Dual electric motors provide all-wheel drive and deliver power to all four wheels with the immediate response characteristic of an EV. Acceleration is smooth and virtually instantaneous, with no conventional transmission or gear changes interrupting power delivery. Mounting the battery pack beneath the passenger compartment also creates a low center of gravity, helping the large sedan feel planted and composed through corners while maintaining a quiet, comfortable ride.
With its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, spacious liftback body, minimalist cabin, expansive touchscreen, and smooth electric performance, this 2016 Tesla Model S represents an important chapter in the development of the modern luxury EV. It combines the comfort and road presence of a premium sedan with impressive practicality and the quiet, immediate power delivery that helped establish the Model S as one of the defining electric vehicles of its era.
